2025 NFL Playoffs: Justin Herbert and the Chargers Fall to Texans in 2025 NFL Wild-Card Round
The Texans won in the wild-card round for the second consecutive season after defeating the Chargers 32–12 in the opening game of the 2024 NFL playoffs. After that, the Ravens defeated the Steelers 28–14 on Saturday night. The opening weekend of the postseason still has four games left.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the top seed in the AFC, and the Lions are the top seed in the NFC. Both teams have home-field advantage for the tournament and are exempt from the divisional round.
Three games on Sunday and one more on Monday, including a “Monday Night Football” game between the Vikings and Rams, are part of the wild-card weekend. Due to the ongoing wildfires in Southern California, the Vikings-Rams game was rescheduled to Arizona for the sake of public safety. The divisional round games are scheduled for January 18 and 19. On January 26, the conference title matches will take place.
The AFC and NFC brackets are shown below, along with the seeding and the complete schedule from wild-card weekend to Super Bowl LIX, which takes place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9.

Round of divisions: January 18 and 19
Four divisional-round games are scheduled, with two on January 18 and two on January 19. The times of the games will be revealed later. What we currently know is as follows:
- The NFC’s top-seeded Detroit Lions will host the bottom-seeded team.
- The team with the lowest seed in the AFC will be hosted by the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs. If the 2-seed Buffalo Bills lose on Sunday, the 3-seed Baltimore Ravens may host a game against the 4-seed Houston Texans.
Conference championships: January 26
The home stadiums of each conference’s top-seeded teams will host the NFC and AFC Championship Games.
- The time of the NFC Championship Game, which airs on Fox on January 26, will be revealed later.
- The time of the AFC Championship Game, which airs on CBS on January 26, will be revealed later.
February 9 is Super Bowl LIX.
The 2024 Super Bowl will take place in New Orleans at Caesars Superdome. Fox will broadcast the game. The halftime show will feature a performance by Kendrick Lamar. The home team will be the NFC representative.
